Abstract:

To make human-computer interaction (HCI) more natural and friendly, it would be beneficial to give computers the ability to recognize situations the same way a human does. Naturally, people use a spontaneous combination of face, body gesture and speech to express their feelings. In this paper, we simulate human perception of emotion with emotion related information from facial Expression and facial Expression recognition based upon ITMI and QIM, which can be seen as an extension to temporal templates. The system was tested on two different databases, the eNterface‘05 and the Cohn-Kanade face database and the recognition accuracy of our systems 71.8% on Cohn-Kanade and 39.27% on eNterface’05, compared to the published results in the literature.

Abstract:

In this paper an efficient method for defining multi-variable functions using Expression templates for array computations in computational fluid dynamics simulations in C++ is introduced. The method is implemented using variadic templates which is a new feature in C++. One of the advantages of the method is its easy of use for users of computational fields. The user can define and use his own function with any number of input arguments without having knowledge of templates programming concepts. The present method may replace conventional Expression templates in developing numerical libraries. For three different functions, including arithmetic operations and trigonometric functions, the efficiency of the proposed method for arrays of different sizes is compared with that of the conventional Expression templates, two different C++ syntax and Fortran language. Furthermore, the performance of the method in terms of the compilation time and executable file size is demonstrated. A similar comparison on Graphic Processing Units (GPU) using CUDA is made and the efficiency of the method is shown. The results indicate that, for any array size, the present method has a very good performance in terms of computational time, compilation time and executable file size. Finally, as an application of the proposed method, a numerical simulation is done.

Abstract:

Molecularly imprinted polymers represent a new class of materials that prepare artificial and have special recognition binding sites to detect templates. Since their discovery in 1972, MIPs have attracted considerable interest from scientists. Three particular features have made MIPs the target of intense investigation: their high affinity and selectivity, which are similar to those of natural receptors; their unique stability which is superior to that demonstrated by natural bimolecular, and the simplicity of their preparation and the ease of adaptation to different practical applications. These features caused to use molecularly imprinted polymers for separation application like solid-phase extraction, membrane, biosensors, high liquid chromatography and capillary electro chromatography. In these study ingredients of MIPs, methods for molecule imprinting and polymerization methods for preparing MIPs investigated.

Background and Aim: The hormone receptor status in breast cancer has been pivotal in determining the likelihood of response to hormonal manipulation. Tumors which are both estrogen and progesterone receptor positive are much more likely to respond to anti-hormone therapy than negative tumors. There is well-established similarity between breast tissue and salivary glands. The aim of this study was to evaluate the progesterone receptor Expression in pleomorphic adenoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma of salivary glands. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive study, immunohistochemical staining with progesterone antibody was performed on 14 pleomorphic adenoma (PA) and 15 adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) paraffin blocks. The percentage of positive cells was determined using an eye piece graticule. Immunoreactivity was categorized as either positive (reactivity more than 5%) or negative (reactivity less than 5%). In addition the existence of progesterone receptor in tumor cells, stromal cells (fibroblasts), inflammatory cells and salivary glands around tumors was evaluated. Data were analyzed with T and Mann Whitney U tests with p<0.05 as the limit of significance. Results: Immunohistochemical staining for progesterone receptor was negative in 15 ACC and 13 PA. Only one case of PA showed immunoreactivity for progesterone receptor. Also, 12 normal salivary glands around tumor were positive. Inflammatory cells, endothelial cells and fibroblasts did not show immunoreactivity in most cases. Conclusion: The results indicate the lack of progesterone receptor Expression in ACC and PA of salivary glands.

Abstract:

the process of making musical instruments is important to all communities. Although it helps us to understand different parts of the musical instrument that how it could affect the sound they finally produce, it could also affect the improvement of musical instruments and musicianship. This paper tries to find out the styles of making Tars in order to classify them according to their similarities and differences. The main objective of this study is to find the special styles that each instrument-maker has employed. This will help to realize the strings that each particular creator has used. The main hypothesis is that although the Tars are overtly the same, there are some differences which could help us to recognize different Tars from one another. Finding the differences comes from the physic of the Tar rather than the sound produced by it. Therefore, this study raised few general questions to all the creators of Tars in Tehran. After studying the surveys, it was decided to choose a statistical society which is smaller and precise in order to enhance the accuracy. By consulting the professors, two generations of Tar-makers were selected. One belongs to the previous generation who passed away but their musical instruments exists and are kept by the musicians, and the other belongs to the present generation, among whom only four were chosen. By finding the Tars of previous generation, we got more specific to the musical instruments which had signs and seals on it, and are kept by the professional musicians; therefor, they are least probable to be fake.Several photos were taken from the musical instruments from different angels in same conditions. A form was created including the information about the exact size of different parts of the musical instrument and a complete feature of each musical instrument. More detailed questions were also asked from the four producers of the Tar, including the main points in producing a Tar in each level of production. They were also asked to illustrate their exact styles according to their stencil (all the styles includes size, thickness and the way to achieve the thickness of the instruments’ handle and the space division of fret). Besides, for comparing the information and size of the instruments, some pictures were taken. Eventually, the research came to the conclusion that there are some significant differences in Tars. The differences are in the measure of the knobs in two sides of the body, the figure and the distance measure connecting the body and Nagaareh (the twin body) from back side, the pins on the peg box, the pins on the saddle, the distance measure of bowl and Nagaareh connection, the outside figure of the bowl and Nagaareh, the balance of the musical instrument as laid on the floor are the most important differences of the Tars. These differences could show the signs of recognizing the creator’s product. Although finding out the differences needs years of experience.
